Use a Quality Lens Spray to Protect Your Investment - Articles Surfing

A good, quality lens spray is much more effective in cleaning your eyeglasses than water alone, and it is better for your glasses, too. Too many people just run their glasses under water, or use a dab of dish soap to clean their eyeglasses. Water alone doesn't clean the lenses of the glasses well enough and soap can actually break down the protective film on your lenses. An affordable lens spray is perfect for cleaning your glasses and won't cost you much more than soap and water.

Using water alone instead of a quality lens spray to clean your glasses is not advisable because it won't remove all of the grime and residue that collects on your glasses over the course of a day. This residue can include smoke, pollen and pollutants from the air, food and drinks that splash onto your glasses, etc. A good lens cleaner will take all of that off of your glasses. You will be amazed at how much better you will be able to see through them.

An affordable lens spray is as cheap as using soap and water to clean your glasses, and won't have the harmful effects on your lenses that some soaps can. Many brands of soaps include harmful abrasives in their list of ingredients. These abrasives can scratch your lenses. Your glasses may also have a protective film over them, or a slightly smoked film for UV protection, which soap can harm or remove. Only a quality lens spray will protect these films that you have paid for to be added to your lenses.

Eyeglass cleaner comes in different brands and they are not all the same. Your eye doctor or optical store will have the best quality lens sprays that you can purchase and will recommend the best lens cleaner for your particular glasses. You can also pick up a more affordable lens spray at your local drug store or grocery. This might not be the quality eyeglass cleaner that you can get from your eye doctor or optical store, but it will do the job nicely and is much better than soap and water, or saliva.

Many people spit on their glasses and then clean them with the tails of their shirts or a napkin rather than using an affordable lens spray. This is a very bad idea. Your saliva is likely to have tiny food particles in it that you will be spraying on your glasses. The napkin or shirt material is not an appropriate cloth to clean your glasses with, either. They are too rough and can scratch your glasses, and may leave dirt or residue on the lenses.

Quality lens spray is easy to purchase and it is affordable, too. There is no need to risk marring your glasses because you don't have it around. A small bottle of lens cleaner goes a long way, too. You won't have to replace it very often. Your glasses are a large investment, even on a vision insurance plan you cannot replace them more than one time a year. Don't risk it, buy a quality, affordable lens spray to protect your investment.
