Gas And Volatile Compound Safety Equipment - Articles Surfing

Have you ever seen a HazMat team or a cleanup crew on TV and wondered what all of those neat-looking gadgets that they use are? If you do, you have probably wondered what RAE systems are. They are a series of atmospheric monitors that can detect things like dangerous gases that are in the air. These types of machines are crucial when it comes to public safety. A gas leak, an accidental fire, and other things can all lead to hazardous materials being in the air. Gas detectors like those made by RAE systems take some of the danger out of this by alerting people of airborne substances so the area can be quarantined and cleaned.

The miniRAE is one of the more popular items on the RAE systems list of products. This is because like its name suggests, a miniRAE is a smaller way to detect gas and other noxious substances in the air. Called a VOC (volatile organic compound) monitor, the miniRAE can survey 0-10,000 ppm. What this means is that its range is long enough to make it an efficient tool for HazMat or even bomb squads and Homeland Security. Offices like these need items like the miniRAE to detect any dangers in the air and evacuate areas that may be contaminated.

Other people who might need a RAE systems gas detector would be border patrol. Though many try to sneak alcohol or other legal goods across the border without paying taxes, these are minor compared to people who may try to smuggle dangerous goods. Things like weapons, items to make bombs or explosives are all detectable by the delicate nose of RAE systems gas detectors.

Local sheriff's offices and police departments may also choose to invest in RAE systems items. Though they are pricey, they are a one-time investment because they are very durable. They must be maintained but RAE goes out of their way to provide maintenance materials. Things like calibration and cleaning are easy when you order directly through RAE.

Of course, it is not just gas that the miniRAE and other items can detect. RAE systems have an entire line of air detectors. If you are in need of radioactive materials finders, you can order such an instrument directly from them. There are also stainless steel enclosures that can be ordered that allow for a cleansed and spark-free environment where hazardous materials may already exist. Companies that have off-shore oil rigs or emergency first-responder needs are likely to invest in this type of item.

Even everyday gases like CO (carbon monoxide) can be hazardous if inhaled at long intervals. The problem is that carbon monoxide, like many dangerous gases, can often not be smelled by the human nose in most instances. But a miniRAE or other gas detector would be able to detect its presence in the air, which could save you a trip to the hospital, or maybe even your life.

As the dangers of an ever-volatile world continue to increase, RAE systems are trying to develop more weapons in the fight against terrorism, particularly biological terrorism. With companies like them developing new products everyday, there is hope that all threats can be detected before they become something bigger.
