Cosmetic Options: Butt Augmentation - Articles SurfingHaving cosmetic surgery performed has become common for many and the desire to reshape one's image and body seem to be increasing in style. Modern cosmetic surgery allows for the restructuring of various parts of the body and many patients are looking for ways to acquire their wanted look or shape in an effective and safe manner. With all this in mind, it is important to have a clear understanding of the cosmetic procedure in question and one's own motives behind having the surgery. With butt augmentation, having a clear understanding of the benefits as well as the risks is just as important as any other sort of procedure. Many individuals are choosing to augment this area of the body to achieve the look they are after, whether it is shapelier or more voluminous. While this procedure does appear to be growing in popularity, it is a great idea to understand how the procedure is performed and what options are available. Furthermore, understanding one's own motives for having the procedure is always a good idea since cosmetic surgery is serious surgery and should be understood as a mentally and emotionally charged surgery since it largely a response to emotional issues and is affected by such. Butt augmentation can be performed in one of two ways: a cosmetic surgeon can either use actual implants or fat from another area of the body can be transferred to the butt area. Either method has its own set of benefits and risks, of course. Each person's body is different and it is best to understand each procedure to be 100% aware of its implications and how it will alter the body's shape. Butt augmentation that is performed with the use of implants has a longer recovery time and can be more painful. Since an implant is being place under the skin, the healing time is longer and the surgery usually takes longer as well. Sitting or laying on the backside is painful so lying on the stomach is the suggested mode during healing. This type of surgery can limit certain activity obviously and may require a longer period of time off work before healing is completed. When butt augmentation is performed without implants, fat is transferred from one area of the body to the butt. This can only be done if there is actually extra fat elsewhere. If so, the cosmetic surgeon will perform liposuction on the body and move the fat. If not, implants are the only other option. If the patient is slim and liposuction is not an option, implants can be put in but the chances of them looking overly obvious increases since a slimmer patient may not have much fat to hide the implants. It is important to discuss such matters with your surgeon to see which method can work for you. Either way, healing time is needed since the operation site is a highly used area. It may be necessary to take extra time off work to heal and sleeping can be uncomfortable for the first week or two.
