Fish Oil: The Next Powerful Anti-depressant? - Articles Surfing

Depression is something that any person would be glad to overcome today. Being in this state is something that many would connect towards emotional stress and setbacks to which people would dread in most cases. To some people however, depression does not primarily stem from psychological and emotional encounters. Rather it is more than just a mental issue but can go as far as also affecting certain human body systems such as low blood levels that would affect key areas such as the brain and the heart.

Most people would care less about the herbal and medical innovations that are available in the market today. Among them, fish oil has been found to provide a semblance of assistance in the area of depression and impulse. As it stands, fish oil has this component called as the Omega-3. The Omega-3 contains polyunsaturated fatty acid which fights of harmful fatty acids. It is the same fatty acids that are quite harmful and have been proven to intoxicate the human body by affecting blood streams and cell membranes.

Facts about Depression

Depression cannot be immediately healed. Some people would resort to various means, socialization, counseling and other forms of therapy. Lovelife, family issues, rejection and so on are usually the initial inhibitors of depression. However, the actual health aspects such as low blood counts and damaging fatty acids are the invisible factors that people would usually take for granted. Rightfully so, people would not be aware of such issues unless they were to go on a regular physical examination to get an overall assessment of what the real score is with regards to their overall health.

Pregnancy Complications

Women in their pregnancy stage are susceptible to depression attacks. Not to say that depression sets in due to their current state but rather that their internal body levels are unstable since their overall health also includes the womb that they have inside of them. A large part of their fatty acids are depleted for the reason that they are inhibited towards the womb that they are carrying making them a whole lot vulnerable to depression due to lack of proper fatty acids.

What is Omega-3?

As it stands Omega-3 is a key contributor towards proper growth and maintenance of cell membranes that are needed by the brain. The lack of such cells would indeed affect the brain and that lack thereof would contribute in overall depression of a person. The lack of such cells offer a glitch in the proper brain functions thereby increasing the risk of even extending such diseases towards serious medical issues including brain and heart diseases.

Depression Additives

There are a number of anti-depressants used by people including that of Prozac to help anyone go through such stages of psychological instability. Fish oil has been found to be a good alternative as well especially in the area of its medical aspect. People suffering from decreased levels of Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) are found to be more susceptible of depression since it is these levels of fatty acids that help in maintaining normal brain functions.

Fish Oil as a Supplement

People who are also particular in diets and health need to address the resources that will be affected from controlled intake of food. Supplements are being used as an alternative to make up for the deprived intake, and fish oil has been found to be something that would cover the area of brain activity. Depression is in the line of the brain area since lack of proper supplemental support towards it will surely be something that may become serious if taken for granted.

There have been a lot of insights with regards to the actual use and effectiveness of fish oil intake. But unlike other medical claims, fish oil has been tried and tested all over the world, staking claim that it is not purely fictional for them in resorting to it as a means of supplement and taking health in an entirely new level of self-care.

Apprehensions for such medical breakthroughs will always be something that will draw both negative and positive feedback. But with medical claims and actual experiments that surround the area of fish oil and its usefulness is something that will move it towards a more reliable level of use. For people to believe, it is best to provide some source of evidence to back it up. Fortunately, fish oil happens to have all of them at this moment.
