Gyno Surgery - Articles SurfingGyno surgery, short for gynecomastia surgery, is a male breast reduction surgery used to reduce the size of a man's areola or general chest region. There are many causes for accelerated or unusually large breast development in men. The condition of large breast development affects nearly 1 in three men worldwide, and is known to cause severe social and psychological trauma. While there are many causes of male breast development, there is really only one surefire solution to the problem; gyno surgery. Gyno surgery is a complex procedure that involves removing tissues from a man's chest, while at the same time creating a contoured appearance in the surrounding fat and muscle to preserve the general sculpt of the chest. Gyno surgery is not the most difficult surgery, however its complexity lies in the artful nature of the surgery itself. In performing this procedure the surgeon needs to be as much an artist as a doctor if there is to be any hope of maintaining a proper chest profile. Poorly done gyno surgeries look disastrous; often leaving the patient with a caved in emaciated looking chest. For this reason it is highly important to choose a skilled and qualified surgeon. When evaluating a surgeon ask to look at before and after pictures of their previous clients. When evaluating the pictures look not only at post operation photos, but also photos taken up to four months after the completion of the surgery. Any good surgeon will maintain a relationship with their client in the post operation phase, keeping track of their recovery and assessing any problems that may need a surgical correction. If the surgeon does not have any pictures from clients months after the operation you should probably be wary of this individual as this shows a lack of regard towards their postoperative care. Gyno surgery involves removing either glandular or fat tissues from a man's chest. Because male breasts are caused by both swollen glands, and increased fat deposits gyno surgery must encompass the removal of both. No matter what is removed the surgical process remains the same; the surgeon makes a small incision around the areola then removes the offending tissue. If it is merely fat tissue liposuction is employed, if it is glandular tissue the surgeon must use a scalpel to remove the gland. After the offending tissue is removed the surgeon uses liposuction to sculpt the area around the breast to give it a natural appearance. The only real complication that can possibly arise from gyno surgery is when fat and glandular tissues are intermingled. This is a slightly more complex situation to deal with, and requires a highly skilled surgeon to successfully complete the operation. Luckily for the patient they can find out before the operation what type of tissue is causing their enlarged breasts. Most doctors, if not all qualified surgeons will be able to give you this information in a consultation merely by feeling your chest. Glandular tissue is often harder than fatty deposits, and as such relatively easy to detect. Before commencing with gyno surgery keep a few things in mind. First consult with a physician to make sure the surgery is absolutely necessary. In some overweight males merely losing the extra pounds will reduce the size of the breast sufficiently so as to avoid surgery entirely. Also ask around the bodybuilding community; either through Internet forums or gyms to see if there are any popular recommendations for plastic surgeons in the area. Because bodybuilders are typically affected with this their community will have a wealth of information available. Lastly make sure to check and double-check your surgeon's references. If anything seems out of order do not go forward with the surgery and keep looking for a new surgeon.
