Where Does Mild Rosacea Come From? - Articles Surfing

A common facial condition that commonly goes unheard of is called Rosacea, which is redness of flushing in the facial features such as the nose, forehead, cheeks, and chin. Most people who suffer from the condition have never even heard of it, which are approximately around 14 million Americans. Rosacea causes bumps, redness and swelling on the areas described above. This condition is often found particularly with those between the ages of 30-50 who have fair skin and blush easily. The level of severity is more prevalent with some people, although in almost all cases it is something embarrassing and permanent.

Rosacea can be treated although it is a chronic condition. Mild cases of the condition are seen more often in those who suffer, which may only be mild redness of the cheeks. There are several symptoms that can be seen with the condition, those of dilated blood vessels and abnormal enlargement of oil glands, as well as eye irritation. You may be wondering if this is something highly genetic and if there is any cure or treatment available that might diminish or completely clear up the skin.

The care provided to you varies depending on the symptoms seen within your facial features. Redness and acne-like lesions can be treated with oral antibiotics and topical medications. The more sever cases of Rosacea need to be discussed with your local skin care physician, expressing concern for your immediate needs and future goals. Certain cases can be treated with laser therapy. For mild Rosacea, a general solution should be available for you to explore.

Many wonder what the cause of Rosacea might be, and how it can potentially be prevented. Although the cause is widely unknown, many factors such as sunlight, cold or hot temperatures, wind, alcohol, spicy foods, skin care products, hot drinks, exercise and rubbing or scrubbing of the face are all potential cases. It is important if you are known to suffer from mild cases, to always wear sun block if you are going to be in the sun for an extended period of time.

There are several topical medications that can be given to patients that are FDA approved. Each of these needs to be considered, as each may have its own side effects ranging from mild irritation to severe redness or swelling. Sometimes dermatologists will use pills to help with treating the redness. If you are considering using pills as an option, they need to be taken in during a sustained amount of time to gain the response needed.

Antibiotics usually are well tolerated but also run the risk of antibiotic resistance. Only you and your physician can decide what treatment is right for you.

Finding out if you are diagnoses with Rosacea is as easy as going to your local dermatologist and conducting a basic interview and by examining your skin thoroughly. Each case is different and there are different forms of Rosacea which need to be considered and treated accordingly and accurately. The cost for care varies with each patient, depending on the frequency and amount of treatment provided.
