Document Coding. The Chance For You To Work From Home - Articles Surfing

Are you looking for a job where you can work from home and that is completely legal? There may have been times when you looked at an advertisement for a work at home job, but only to find out it is one almighty scam. In fact you may be one of these people who has been tempted to pay out lots of money for one that has turned out to be an enveloping stuffing scam. If you are, then it is quite understandable that you are going to shy away from looking any further at working from home. But do not worry, there is a job waiting for you out there and one of the hottest areas that you could consider working in that offers work at home opportunities is in the Document Coding business.

You will discover that there are 2 different kinds of Document Coding companies around, medical and legal. If you decide to work in medical coding, you may find that you need to do some training first either, a course, class or program and certainly spending money of this can really pay off in the long run. Many medical coders will be working either for hospitals, doctor's offices or an independent company even at their offices or from the comfort of their own homes. Certainly a good medical coder with the right education and experience can expect to earn upwards of $30,000 a year.

Now the other type of document coding work available is legal, and there are a number of litigation support companies based online such as On Site Sourcing and Cypher Litigation Support who employ remote coders to work from their homes. You may find also that with legal coding some companies will provide the necessary training, so you don't actually have to take any special courses or get a degree. Much of the coding involved in this work includes the extraction of date from scanned documents and entering this data in certain data entry fields. So what you are actually doing is creating search criteria for use by attorneys and paralegals when searching for electronic documents. After a while you may find that you can advance your position within the company and become a quality control provider. As for how much you can make as a legal document coder depends on how much work you carry out and the per document rate (how much you will get paid for each document you code) of the company that you are working for.

But the first thing you will need to when looking to work as either a legal or medical document coder is to create a detailed cover letter and resume (CV) that you will store on your computer. The when you visit either a legal or medical document company's website look at their employment opportunities section or even the contact information section and then simply submit your letter and resume to them. Remember to include detailed contact information for yourself as well as the areas of work that you are experienced in along with your education and work history.

So with a little patience and determination you will soon find the coding job that is right for you and can be carried out from the comfort of your own home. Certainly those people already working in this field have found that one of its best benefits is its flexibility and is ideal for those parents who wish to work from home whilst caring for their family.
