Acala DVD Copy Reviewed - Articles Surfing

When I first brought home my 200GB hard disc drive I started looking for a way to backup my favorite DVDs as some of them were severely scratched and hard to read. I was looking for the golden bullet program that would allow a novice such as me to convert DVDs onto a hard disc drive without my having to totally understand the process. I set about surfing on internet until I found Acala DVD Ripper.

Here is my experience. For about two weeks I searched the Internet for information about DVD backup in order for me to understand the issues. I then started looking at various programs which were available. The biggest problems I was faced with was getting the video and audio to sync during playback, the second was a force24 error( I haven't understood what that is yet), the third is fail to convert DVDs with copyright protection. I purchased and used several of the most mentioned applications but my search was over when I downloaded Acala DVD Ripper. It was the golden bullet application I was looking for.

Acala DVD Ripper can do everything automatically giving me the impression that I am a professional, however what I needed to do is just load the DVD, choose the path where you want it to be saved and start the conversion.

I can use three output formats: AVI (with XVID compression), VCD, SVCD. By VCD and SVCD I also have the option to choose the split mode (infinite or 74min. 80min. length CD's) and TV Mode (PAL, NTSC, FILM).

But I was interested more on the AVI format. I am able to set all the important characteristics of the XVID encoding, from audio quality to aspect ratio, frame size, and frame rate.

Along with a preview screen and a text box which displays all the information regarding the DVD, nothing is very impressive. After I made the first conversion I was becoming surprised by the quality of the end result. The application uses lossless algorithms to perform the conversion. Another powerful characteristic is the speed of the conversion. Even on a low system I get a good time in the conversion.

Besides these, another strong characteristic is the simplicity of it all. The application can detect the audio and video stream without giving it any additional parameters.

I am confident that anyone can use this application without needing any additional help. Simply push the button and the application will do everything on its own.

I recommend it to anyone who wants to backup DVDs because it's the best one.
Keep up the Great work guy's!
