Choosing The Perfect Dog Bed Sheets

Just as American prime time TV experience won't be the same without Oprah or CSI, dog beds won't be complete without their bed sheets, too.

Dog bed sheets serve not only as decorative elements but also as important accessories to any dog bed you have in mind. This relationship works in the same fashion as coffee and creamer or bread and butter.

Bed sheets are large, thin sheets of fabric that are normally cut into a rectangular piece of cotton or linen cloth. They usually have seam at the center and are chiefly used to cover your dog's bed. It is normally placed between your dog and the bed itself. The very first bed sheets were made in plain white. However, you could say that today'a designs, materials, and colors of bed sheets have come a long way.

Bed sheets are basically bigger than the bed and can be tucked under the mattress to make it stable. Bed sheets add the complete touch to any bedding set. The thread count determines the quality of the bed sheet. Thread count is the material's number of threads per square inch. As a common rule: the higher the thread count, the softer the bed sheet.

Dog bed sheets are usually made out of sateen, linen, cotton, or other synthetic materials. The most basic patterns of which are dots, stripes, checkered, or printed. They can either be fitted or flat.

If you're planning to purchase any set of these sheets, this simple criteria may be of great help to you:

1. It should be machine washable.

You should check if the material used in the bed sheet can take a spin through a washing machine. This is to make the task of cleaning the sheets easy. Washing by hand is not really a bad idea. But, why punish yourself when you can do it the more convenient way?

2. It should be attractive, colorful, and should match your dog's personality.

These days, there are a whole lot of bed sheet designs and colors to choose from. So, remember to pick sheets with nice prints on them. At best, they should also be colorful. Moreover, you should opt for those that complements the kind of dog that you have. If your furry companion is a cheerful and bubbly one, go for the sheets with bright yellow sunflower prints. If your canine friend is an adventurous animal, pick the ones with bold, red prints on them. Your dog may never actually appreciate this element of design, but your family and friends probably will.

3. It should be reasonably priced but durable.

Remember not to go for bed sheets that are priced astronomically. You can actually buy a set for as low as $19. However, this doesn't mean that you have to compromise the quality of the fabric used. It would be better if you will go for middle-priced ones that are made of highly durable materials. This way, quality and economy are both achieved.
