Nsaid's And Joint Max - Articles SurfingThere is an estimated 80 million domesticated cats and dogs. The same study revealed that one of five of these animals are suffering from muscle pain. But how will owners be able to tell if there is anything wrong? That is a good question and monitoring its behavior is a good place to start. There are 5 types of arthritis found in cats and dogs. These are namely hip dysplasia, hypertrophic, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid and traumatic. When the drugs purchased over the counter do not work, something stronger needs to be given. This is when non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or NSAIDS come in. These drugs work by blocking the enzyme known as cyclooxygenase or COX from operating in the body. There are many brands in the market and are known to cause negative side effects. There are three types currently available namely salicylates, traditional NSAIDs and COX-2 inhibitors. Customers know the first one all too well because this is often purchased for headaches and muscle pain which is better known as aspirin. The second is closely associated with the definition of what an NSAID is as it blocks COX1 and COX2 and administered to pets that have chronic pain. The third type is designed to only stop COX-2 and not COX-1 because it will reduce gastrointestinal toxicity and relieves arthritis. But what is joint max? This drug is considered to be the newest and most effective to hit the market because it has all the ingredients of the different supplements combined into one tablet. It has chondroitin, glucosamine, N-acetylcysteine, vitamin C and zinc in chewable form. Pets are not used to taking supplements or any drug orally so the owner should probably break this into smaller pieces and then mix this with the food. Joint max is available in different sizes. The customer can choose from the 120, 250, 500 and the 720 pack. It also has a liquid version that is in 32 fl. oz. The cheapest one will go for $26 while the most expensive costs $169 that is already in a super value pack. These can be purchased either from the drug store or online. Some people say that before using NSAID's, it wouldn't hurt to give this a shot since it is still cheaper than the one going to be prescribed by the vet. Another reason why Joint Max should be tried first is because it helps rebuild damage in the cartilage. It can also be given while taking other drugs simultaneously that is used to relieve muscle pain. Arthritis is normal and this will occur as the dog or the cat ages. Although being diagnosed with this is not fatal, it is still possible for the pet to live a healthy and normal life as long as certain measures are taken. Pets considered to be members of the family. It cannot use a crutch, a cane or a wheelchair that humans have the choice of using when things get worse and this only means something else better has to be done. It wouldn't hurt to start by changing the diet, giving it a little exercise by letting it scratch on a pad or chase a ball and of course giving it a little tender loving care. This should be followed with food supplements such as Joint Max and NSAIDs to ease the pain.
