Surprises For Your Pets When Left Alone - Articles Surfing

Our loyal companions depend on us for life and love. We are not the only ones who can get depressed when left alone. Our pets are also susceptible to getting the lonely blues when we leave them home alone or at a kennel or boarding facility. But not to worry as a pet owner there are many things you can do to ensure that your pets don't miss you to much.

When leaving you animals at a kennel or boarding facility it can be a good idea to bring along their crates. To our loyal companions their crates can be a safe haven. Inside the crate it is best to cushion the bottom with some sort of a towel or blanket. Before placing the blanket in to the crate you should cover it with your scent. This can be done by simply rubbing it on your body. The smell of your scent can put their mind at ease. This will give the effect that you have been there the entire time. Depending on the rules of the facility you may also be able to leave them with a special toy, something that offers them the comfort of home.

Hiring a pet sitter to come into your house will make certain that you pets get the intimate attention they need and deserve when you're away. If you have planned to leave your pets at home and have a pet sitter come in periodically throughout the day does not automatically guarantee that your pets won't get lonely, but it's a good start letting them stay where they are most familiar and comfortable with. One thing to remember when hiring a pet sitter is that not just anyone is the best for the job. When choosing a pet sitter you should keep in mind how your animal reacts to them and vise versa. So choose someone you know your precious pets adore and this will help them cope with you leaving.

The sound of voices in the house will give the impression that someone is home. Leaving a T.V. or radio on during the day can help relax your pet's nerves. You can then instruct your pet sitter to turn off the noise at night and on during the day. Another good idea is to hide their toys all over the house. If they are investigating the house say looking for you they can be happily surprised of a favorite toy which can get their minds off of missing you. For the dog that likes to chew leaving a few bones spread out through the house will distract them for awhile. If your dog is use to sleeping in your bed it is best to leave your bedroom door open. Of course you should first remove anything that they may get into. Letting them sleep where they normally do will let them know that are not being punished by you leaving.

We all share an unconditional love for our loyal companions. Leaving them alone whether at home or at a facility they will miss you unconditionally. Taking these steps to guarantee your pets happiness could mean the world to them as well as yourself.
