Your Dog's Health Is In Your Hands...Do What Is Best For Him! - Articles SurfingYour dog is not only your best friend. He is also your trusted companion, confidant and administers unconditional love all the time. Doesn't he deserve to receive a little from you in return? If you truly care about him, then you need to administer not only love but quality daily care to your dog at all times. In this article, we'll talk about your dog's needs and how to meet them so that he is around for a long time.. First of all, dogs need fresh food and water every single day. Your best bet is to get breed specific dog food and formulas that are specifically formulated for his needs. For instance, if you have a puppy you should give him puppy formula and if you have an older dog, you should feed him senior dog food. Second, dog needs socialization. This can be administered by enrolling him in a dog training course or doggie day care. Either way, he'll learn to get along with other dogs as well as people too. He'll learn how to follow commands and proper behavioral techniques. In the end, you'll have a properly socialized dog that is better behaved and happier too. Third, exercise your companion daily. You should let him outside every single day. If you have a gated yard, let him run free for a bit and get the exercise that his body needs. Also, you should take him on daily a walk which is good for his mind, body and spirit too. Fourth, leash him when you go out. This is not only for the protection of other dogs but for your dog's protection as well. A dog on a leash is great because you are better able to control his actions which make him a joy to be around. Fifth, provide your dog with adequate veterinarian care. This includes yearly wellness checks and making sure that he is up to date on his vaccinations. Also, you should ensure that your dog has a proper collar and ID tag so that he can be found if lost. You may even consider micro chipping him, a small procedure that puts a small chip under his skin which enables him to be properly identified if lost. Sixth, abide by all local laws and make sure that he is properly licensed. Many counties require that you pay yearly fees to have your dog licensed. If so, get that dog license. Seventh, consider getting your dog neutered or spayed. Researchers have shown that neutered or spayed dogs have less behavior problems than dogs that aren't. In addition, this medical procedure reduced overpopulation of dogs which can be quite problematic indeed. Eighth, give your dog unconditional love too. He loves you so do what you can to show him love back. Play with him and give him the attention that he craves. After all, he is part of your pack now so let him know it! One way to show you care is to play games with him, give him dog specific toys and occasional offer him healthy treats. Also, if he makes mistakes, work with him to get them right. You aren't perfect and neither is he. In conclusion, by taking the time to properly care for your dog, you'll giving him a new lease on life and guaranteeing that he stays healthy and happy for a very long time. After all, your dog is worth it and he craves quality care just like you. Give generously and reap a hundredfold.
