Your Guide To High Quality Dog Beds - Articles Surfing

Choosing a bed for your dog should be an important, informed decision. You probably already know what size you need to accommodate your dog, and maybe even have a color picked out that matches your home. But even more important is finding a bed that is high quality to ensure the utmost in comfort, durability and maintenance. Many people believe that all dog beds are the same; you just pick the color and size and your dog will be happy with it no matter what. This simply isn't true as there are many different options for dog beds on the market.

High quality dog beds are not only better for your pet, but can be beneficial for you as well. Choosing a high quality dog bed with easy maintenance will make it much easier for you to keep their bed clean. Good things to look for are beds with removable covers that are machine washable and dryable. The entire bed should be washable, but a removable cover will be laundered more often than the entire bed. Keeping your dog bed clean will help keep your dog clean and aid in pet hair and dander reduction in their sleeping area. This is especially beneficial for people with allergies that sleep in the same room with their pets. Some dog beds are even available with antibacterial covers and can be mildew and stain resistant.

Another thing you should consider when looking at dog beds is the type of material used for the bed. High quality dog bed material should be free of any toxic material that could be ingested if your dog chews or attempts to destroy the bed. The material should also be durable and sustain daily use from your pet. Your time, effort and money that goes into your dog's bed should be invested in a bed that will last for years.

Many dog beds are now made for dog's special needs, like extra large breeds and aging dogs. Orthopedic beds are great for dogs with hip dysplasia or other joint problems. Very large dog breeds needs extra support as well to keep them comfortable. High quality dog beds will accommodate these special needs. Lastly, look for a manufacturer that is veterinarian and/or AKC approved. This ensures that the manufacturer has done the proper research and made a truly quality product for your dog.

Your dog deserves the best in comfort and quality. Shop around for a high quality bed that meets the needs of you and your dog ' you'll both be glad you did!
