A Notary Claims Regression For The Industry - Articles Surfing

I was talking to this notary down in Alabama and she said that she always wished the notary job was more exciting. I told her whenever there is controversy, I here notaries talk, blog, and rant about it for weeks. Why is that? She said it is because our lives are so boring it is all we have to do that is fun in our lives. I don't think Bama-girl was quite on target when she said this, but opened my eyes to a notary's life and how exciting it really is.

Who's to say that of the 100 houses you go to in a month that there won't be a Tom Cruise or famous person waiting to sign 'your' docs? Or what if there is a ghost at one of the houses and you help the people get rid of it while their dog barks and bites you in the ankle. Unfortunately these things don't happen for notaries, or anyone for that matter, and most often are only seen in movies. But a notary's life can be more exciting then we make it, just look around you.

Today I was driving to a signing outside Atlanta and looking at the beautiful homes on the east side. To me it is fun to sit with the windows rolled down and just enjoy the cool breeze of notary bliss. I also signed the docs in a basement. That was interesting. It was an 80/20 and I needed some work so I drove 40 minutes to this place for $100 I am sure I ended up losing money on the deal, but it was ok I haven't worked as a notary in a while (slower than molasses).

Have notaries seen how silly they look when they complain about the woes of notarydom. A canceled gig, a no-pay client, or boycotting a certain signing company, this is all I hear. Sure this stuff sucks, but what about the other things, like how we help people everyday by signing for their homes? I think this is a pretty honorable profession and would like to see more notaries rise to the challenge of dropping the sword and picking up a stamp.

Attacks will do nothing to stop the signing companies or the declining market. Studies are showing a significant recession in 2009 will be inevitable, however the major cities could pull through this. I think it is important to understand where the future leads for you as a notary and how you can help yourself get to your goals. It will be more difficult because we don't have $200 a signing anymore, but I am sure all the notaries who read this would agree that they enjoy there job, good with the bad. I just wish we could all get more jobs. Look at the stuff out there that might supplement some of that income each month. There are other articles out there that offer info on other industries notaries and contractors can be successful at.

God Speed notaries and remember to keep that chin up. We will soon get out of this mess.
