Goodfinding Issue Two: What You Pay Attention to Grows - Articles SurfingWhat you pay attention to grows. Your payment of attention on a moment-by-moment day-by-day basis is the most important investment you will ever make. Invest wisely. Invest your attention in the miracles and the blessings that abound. Resist the instinctive problem-solving focus of your mind and shift to the beauty that is within and all around you right now and in every moment. Your attention is a powerful energy form, and it feeds the things you focus on. Since you want more love, health and abundance in your life, then invest your attention in the love, health and abundance that you can find right now. It is always there. Give the gift of your attention to those things you love, and they will return the gift to you ten-fold. Pay attention to these good things: A vandal leaves $200 and a note of apology for the person whose windshield he broke. A man who mistakenly received $200,000 works hard to find the proper owner of the money when he could easily have kept it for himself. College students spend their Spring Break helping hurricane victims instead of partying on the beach. A school principal gets parents and the community involved, and boosts students' performance significantly as a result. A positive film festival called "Elevate" draws a crowd of 400 participants. Two widows from the September 11 crisis are using the financial support they received to help war widows in Afghanistan. This is only a tiny fraction of the good in the world. Keep looking for the good! Remember your good heart. You have always wanted to do the right thing. It's in your nature. You were created that way. Regardless of your failures or limitations, you still want good things for yourself and others. This good intent may be in the background of your awareness. If so, bring it to the foreground, and let it be your guide, your leader in deciding what to do next. The "next best thing" is usually easy to find, and if you do it, you will find more and more good coming to you every day. Your own goodness is your greatest asset, and remembering it puts you in touch with the source of the universal goodness from which we all emerged. Focus on, pay attention to the light, the love, the innocent desire for good within you. It's who you are and what you're here for. Right now, notice what's working, what's right and what's good. These blessings will not reach out and grab your attention, so you must reach out with your attention and grab them. There is always so much good in your life, quietly waiting for your recognition, and your recognition will help the good get better. Is your heart working? Are you breathing? Are there muscles that are relaxed and pain-free? Can you see, hear, feel and smell? Take a moment to be grateful for these functions that allow you to experience the magnificent miracle of now. The more grateful you are, the more blessings you will have to be grateful for. The practice of Goodfinding is designed to help you develop the skill of finding, focusing on and increasing the good within you and in your world. You are a creator by nature, and you are always creating something. If you don't see yourself as a creator, then you are creating the illusion of being subject to forces beyond your control. When you take responsibility for the co-creation of your world, you align yourself with the Creator of the Universe, and the power available to you is unlimited. Goodfinding will put you in touch with millions of people who are co-creating a beautiful world right now. Become a Goodfinder, and create the world of your dreams.
