How Do We Retrain Our Brain - Articles SurfingIt may seem like a very hard technique and you are probably right and the reason being, you are used to what you have always done and if you are like most humans you tend to be with the negative approach more than positive. Now don't get me wrong, you do at times act normal or thinking of the positives or just believe in yourself more than usual. Well this is how we are supposed to think all the time, not just part of the time. Yet we as thought beings are tending to lean toward the negative or the not so good outcome. Now how do we go about changing this nasty little habit that we call negativity or negative thinking? First as with most steps in life we must first just realize that we tend to lean toward the negative things, look for the worst and we tend to get that also. So we must first look inside ourselves and see what may need some attention. One of the most basic steps to retraining our brain is to saturate your mind with the good clean, positive and motivational type stuff. What I would suggest to you is Zig Ziglars, How to stay motivated series. This is a six disc set of three different parts, changing the picture, positive self attitude and the goals program. Now on a scale of one to ten I give this series a 7 on a 1 to 10 scale and if you listen as Zig tells you to and do it as many times as he tells you to, there is no way that you can't see positive results and also feel better about yourself and your fellow man. Now if you keep listening to the tapes and read positive books of all kinds, some would be embraced by the Light by Bettie J Eddie. Your Erroneous zones, Real Magic, There is a spiritual solution to every problem, all three by Dr. Wayne Dyer, Happiness is a choice by Barry Neil Kaufman. You should also school yourself in motivational tapes and books on money such as Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill; you were born Rich by Bob Proctor and As a Man Thin kith by James Allen. That should get you started on the right road and the more you read and listen the stronger you will be! Now that we have the frame work of getting you into the right mind frame lets concentrate on retraining our brain. Just how do we go about it? Well to start off, you start to watch your emotions, see how you feel about all the things that are going around you and before you open your mouth you think about that thought and see how you want to respond to it. Now you need to know when you have a negative thought or emotions, then stop right there and say do I want to own this? If the question is yes then let it go and move on to the next. If the thought is negative, which a good deal will be. You stop the thought and insert a positive thought. Negative thought I am having a bad day and it makes me feel like a loser and a failure. Ok if you are having a bad day that's ok, but you are not a failure or a loser, you are simply having a bad day. So now we know what we are looking for that first negative thought, I suck, stop right there and insert a positive thought, I don't suck I am just having one of those days and I am sure it's going to get better and better. Now that we see the pattern of negative thoughts that come, we know that we must stop right there and to figure out what is a positive thought you can insert. Now at times you need to know it will be though, but once that first negative thought comes in stop it dead in its tracks and say a positive affirmation. This day sucks and it will never get any better. Stop right there, this day may sink, but tonight I am going out with sally and I know our date is going to be good! Now that you thought of sally your mood changed to something better and you were able to smile and the next thing you know you were feeling better. That my friend in a nutshell is how we Retrain our brain. Saturate it with positive tapes books and when that negative thought comes in stop it and then insert a positive one until you smile and then you have got it whooped.
