Developments Entice Residents With a Promise to Live, Work and Play - Articles SurfingMaster-planned communities are popping up all over the United States with an enticing offer for residents to live near their jobs and in close proximity to theaters, restaurants, parks, and other in-town conveniences. More than ever, homebuyers are turning towards these types of developments for the possibility of living, working and playing all in one area. Generally, master-planned communities are distinguished from a typical subdivision by the tremendous number of amenities and conveniences they offer. Because of their sheer size, most master-planned communities incorporate extensive recreational amenities such as lakes, golf courses, parks, shopping, and entertainment venues. One such development, Brambleton, is an award-winning Master Planned Community located in Loudon County, Virginia. Just outside the nation's capitol, Loudon County has consistently ranked as one of the fastest growing counties in the United States. Brambleton's design encompasses approximately 6,200 single-family homes, townhomes, luxury apartments and condominiums tailored to meet the needs of singles, couples, maturing families and active adults. Homes are nestled among lakes, wooded areas and open space. One of the first wireless, high-tech communities in the country, Brambleton incorporates nearly 2,000 acres. The community's Town Center plays an active role in bringing together area residents. In celebration of its grand opening, the Brambleton Town Center hosted a family fun day. The event included entertainment for the entire family, children's activities, and a NASCAR simulator and show car. Attendees were also able to sample great food provided by restaurant retailers and enter to win a door prize in one of the many free drawings. 'Brambleton Town Center is a prominent feature within the master-planned residential and retail development of Brambleton in southeastern Loudoun County, Virginia,' said Kim Adams, marketing director for Brambleton Group, L.L.C. 'Hosting a family fun day [helped] us celebrate our new retailers in the daily needs portion of the town center while giving something back to our community.' Brambleton Town Center retailers include: Harris Teeter; Chevy Chase Bank; Art & Frame Depot; A&A Music; Froots; Caribou Coffee; Nick's Corner Grill; AT&T; Cold Stone Creamery; Go Bananas; My Thai Place; La Belle Nail Spa; Hair Cuttery; B&T Dry Cleaners; Edible Arrangements; California Tortilla; Subway; Scotto's Rigatoni Grill; a UPS store; and an animal emergency clinic. In Summer 2007, Consolidated Theaters opened its eagerly awaited 16-screen multiplex in the second phase of Brambleton Town Center. Residents of the master-planned northern Virginia community take advantage of the shorter drive to the theater, the all-stadium seating, and of course, popcorn. "This well-appointed theater is a perfect fit with our on-going vision for Brambleton Town Center,' noted Adams. 'Having a neighborhood cinema will provide one more opportunity for our residents to enhance their quality of life and participate in community-based events.' Additional retail stores slated to open soon in Town Center's second phase include Birkenstock, Classic Closets & Design, Cradle & Crayon, Edibles Incredible, and The Nest Egg. More retailers, such as Barnes & Noble plan store openings in the near future as well. Throughout the year, residents also participate in special events such as summer concerts in the town plaza, movies on the lawn, fall fest, and even a neighborhood camp out in the park.
