Are You Really Ready To Lose Weight? - Articles Surfing

Well, are you?

Do you constantly think about losing those excess pounds you're carrying around?

Do you go on the latest diet you read about online or in the latest magazine for a few weeks but then give up?

Do read everything you can about dieting, weight loss, and exercise, but never do anything about it?

Are you always on a diet but never really getting anywhere with reaching your goals?

If this sounds like you, maybe you aren't ready to lose weight. That may sound crazy. But, can you look at yourself in the mirror and say, 'I am 100% ready and committed to watching what I eat, exercising, and to losing the weight I need to lose.'

Many people can't look in the mirror and tell themselves they are ready to lose weight because weight loss isn't just a physical thing. It's a mental process too.

Losing weight is hard. It's really hard. It could the most difficult thing you ever do for yourself. It takes an incredible amount of determination to lose weight and not give up partway through. A person has to be mentally ready for the challenge of losing weight.

So until you are mentally ready to lose the weight and lose it for good, don't set yourself up for failure by going on a diet for a few weeks, quitting, and then gaining all the weight back. You're likely to not only gain back everything you lost but a few extra pounds as well which means you'll end having even more weight to lose.

Am I trying to discourage you? Definitely not! I'm trying to get you to prepare yourself for the challenge of losing weight like a warrior would prepare himself for battle. A warrior prepares himself (or herself) both physically and mentally before going into battle. He tells himself he is strong and that he is going to win. By the time he enters the battlefield he is mentally convinced he is going to succeed at his (or her) mission.

Attack your weight loss mission the same way. Prepare yourself mentally. Tell yourself you can do it; that you will do it; that it will be hard at times, but that you are strong and will be able to persevere and succeed!

Imagine how you will look and feel when you lose those extra 10, 20, 50, or however many pounds it is you need to lose. How much more energy will you have? How much more confidence will you have? How much better will you feel overall?

Keep those positive thoughts in your mind because no matter what anyone tells you, losing weight is going to be hard at times.

There will be days where you want to eat everything bad for you food you can get your hands on, but you will need to be strong and keep the damage control to a minimum, having a little bit of the food you really want but not going overboard.

There will be times when your weight will plateau even though you are watching what you are eating and exercising. You will need your warrior perseverance to get you through those tough times and keep you focused on the end result and the end prize ' a more fabulous, more healthy, more energetic you!

So mentally prepare yourself now so you can confidently look in that mirror and say, 'I am 100% ready and committed to watching what I eat, exercising, and to losing the weight I need to lose.'
