Danielle, 34 was until recently the typical working woman, mother of two children, Richard, 7 years and Stella,10 years. She got married very early.. when she was just 23. Those were the days when she was the most beautiful woman in Manchester. She was slim, stylish and opinionated. She had just started working at a local departmental store as a cashier. That's where she met her husband - Steve Mclean.

Steve was a top footballer for the club ' Manchester United. Danielle did not even know that the club existed. Her knowledge of football was very poor. Not only did he get his wallet, but also asked her out, for a cup of tea with scones at the local restaurant.

That when Danielle realized that the attraction was mutual. Since the club where Steve played was not very far away, he began to make regular visits to the department store, especially before closing time. He would invariably ask Danielle out to dinner. After 6 months of regular visits to the department store, he was able to come out of his shyness and propose to her. She was not biting the bait as yet. She agreed to marry him only after a nail biting 3 months during which she checked out every detail about him.

They married on a beautiful summer day and had the most wonderful honeymoon. Soon within a year she was pregnant. That's when she began to gain the kilos. She added an extra 30 kgs during her first pregnancy and 20 ks during the second pregnancy. And, then life settled into it's normal rhythm. She continued to work at her regular job and was promoted to the position of 'Store Manager'.

While she did well professionally, her personal life was more troubled. There was no sex life. Saddled as she was with looking after 2 kids, Steve took a transfer to the Spanish club in Madrid called 'Real Madrid'. Daniella suspected that the transfer was taken more because he could be away from her and able to have fun with some comely Spanish women. They had a non-existent sex life nowadays and Steve was late home everyday. Steve justified the transfer saying that he was being paid much more and they would be rich. He even asked her to quit her job and come to Madrid. She would have done that, but it was impossible as they were in the middle of the school term.

Her suspicions were correct. Her Madrid friends immediately confirmed that he was having a reckless playboy lifestyle out there and even had a regular mistress. Danielle had a huge row with Steve over the phone over his Madrid life. He denied everything first, but when she told him that she had pictures of him, that when he blurted the truth. He bluntly told her ' When I have a wife who looks like a fat cow, what else do you expect?'. We haven'nt slept together for months Danielle, you are very fat and unattractive.'. Danielle was so stunned on hearing this, that she could not say a word. She put just put down the phone and then the tears came gushing out. The river of tears flowed for almost one week. A week in which she did not eat anything or even answer the phone. The only sensible thing she did was drop the kids at her mother's place.

By the end of the week, she realized that if she did not change herself, she would not have any self-esteem. That's when she went to the local gym and enrolled for a fitness class. She also went to a dietician and got a complete diet to reduce weight in a systematic manner. A month passed by and she lost 2 kgs . The second month she lost just 1 kg. She realized that it was difficult to control her diet, as constant exercise made her very hungry. So she used to binge sometimes. This reflected in the amount of weight lost during the second month.
