How do I Quit Smoking? - Articles Surfing

The good news is thousands of Americans give up smoking each day; the bad news is they give it up by dying. Smoking kills, and the only escape from it is to either give it up or suffer from a smoking-related medical condition that will catch up sooner or later. Now, if you value your life and are keen to quit smoking, then here are a few ways that can help you do it:

1. Many regular smokers try giving up on it by stopping all of a sudden (called the Cold Turkey method) ' and that's one big mistake. Such addicts go back for that one last puff sooner than they think because their bodies are deeply addicted to nicotine. So, if you are a regular smoker, you must give it up the "gradual" way, rather than switching off all of a sudden. If your body is not addicted to nicotine, you can give this method a try.

2. There are many nicotine replacements available in the market ' nicotine chewing gum, nicotine patches, and more. People who cannot give up smoking the Cold Turkey way can try these patches out and gradually reduce their smoking intake from cigarettes. However, it is best to consult a health care professional to determine what type of patch/dosage will work best for your constitution and level of addiction.

3. Apart from the nicotine replacements mentioned above, there are low-nicotine cigarettes available in the market, which too can help. Smokers can switch to these cigarettes and keep on lowering their nicotine intake progressively.

4. Self-help is sometimes the best help when it comes to quit smoking. So, try this trick ' analyze the time or the occasion or the event or the situation that makes you reach out for a cigarette. It can be at a party, at a pub, while hanging around with friends, in the rest room, etc. Once you get a grip on these situations, then you can practice self-control. For example, chew nicotine gum while you're at a party, wear a nicotine patch when you're hanging around with friends, and so on.

5. When self-help and medical help does not work, you can join a quit smoking support group in your area. Not only will a group help you in your quit smoking endeavors, you will end up with a few like-minded friends as well!

Just imagine your life without smoking... You start to be able to taste food a lot better, your sense of smell returns to normal, your breath, hair and clothes lose that horrible cigarette smell, your fingernails and teeth stop yellowing... and you eventually stop running out of breath from everyday activities like walking up stairs or spring-cleaning...

You'd be a mad man not to want all the amazing benefits that non-smokers take for granted!

Heck, If you're not willing to try it out... you obviously DON'T CARE about yourself, your health, your financial position, YOUR FAMILY! Or anyone else for that matter. Hurry and start quiting now before its too late. Quit Smoking by Smoking is the answer, they offer a simple yet effective way to authentically quit smoking by smoking" without hassle.
