What Causes Bad Breath? - Articles SurfingThat seems to be the question on everyones mind lately. It's been on the nightly news, local radio stations and just about every where else you look. What seems to make this problem even worse is that new studies show that most people who have bad breath have no idea they have bad breath or what causes it. We all have that one guy in the office who we try to avoid because of his breath. It may not be that guys fault he has bad breath. The thing that makes bad breath such a problem is that there are so many causes of it. Causes range from foods one eats like onions and garlic. These can be avoided and most people tend not to binge on them before they will be around others for just this reason. Most of the time people who eat garlic and onions will notice they have some very bad breath after they have eaten, even if they have brushed and flossed. This happens because the oils are absorbed by the body and excreted back into the lungs as the person breaths. There isn't much you can do about this. No matter how hard you try, you'll find it really difficult to brush and floss your lugs. It doesn't have to be onions or garlic to give you bad breath. Every time you eat you leave little bits of food between you teeth and under your tongue. Bacteria live in your mouth and to them this is a all you can eat buffet. They love the fresh food, what else do they have to look forward to? They spend all day in your mouth eating and making babies. This is good for them but not so much for you. These little guys are one of the most prominent causes of bad breath. No matter how hard you try, you'll be fighting a losing battle with them over your bad breath. Other non food related causes Sometimes food isn't the cause of bad breath. Coffee and cigarettes are known to whip up some really bad breath. What is so mean about this is the people who drink a few cups of coffee a day and smoke can't even smell that they have some very very bad breath. Medical causes There are yet even more causes of bad breath. Halitosis can be the symptoms of several severe medical problems. I've yours are not made any better by eating less garic and onions and regular brushing you should make an appointment with your doctor to get it check out. A few simple blood tests later and you'll have a much better idea of what is causing it. It can be a very uncomftorable situation for the person with bad breath once he or she is confronted about it, especially if this is done rudely and in an office setting. There are not many ways to tell someone they have bad breath and them not be offended. Try to break it to them as best as you can, Don't laugh at them or leave huge piles of mints on their desks. You never know, maybe you're that guy at the office. Try to keep peoples feelings in mind.
