What Causes Spider Veins? - Articles SurfingFor many people, spider veins are an unfortunate reality. Not only are they often cosmetically unattractive but they can be the cause of aggravating symptoms. Many individuals seek out treatment for aesthetic reasons and reasons related to the pain associated with them. With modern medical technology, it is possible to treat such veins so that they can be eliminated. What causes spider veins varies from case to case obviously. They can be related to genetics, undue stress on the legs, weight gain, pregnancy, prolonged stress on the legs, sitting or standing stationary for prolonged periods of time, and even trauma related incidents. It is no wonder then that spider veins are widely seen due to the fact that many are not 100% aware of how they may be contributing to spider veins by their lifestyle or occupation. There are things that can be done to assist the blood's departure from the legs. For example, the legs can be stretched, ankles extended, and moved about every so often when sitting or standing for prolonged periods. Spider veins can also be prevented from occurring through regular exercise. Moving the legs and calf muscles regularly works well to prevent blood from pooling in the lower legs. It is important to remember also that what causes spider veins can also be related to excessive heat exposure, such as can be found in spas or hot tubs. Heat tends to constrict the veins and cause blood to pool in the legs. To keep your legs as vein free as possible, naturally, it is recommended that you make sure that leg exercises be incorporated into your regular exercise routine. After long road trips it is a good idea to get up and move around, walk, and stretch the legs out to get blood flowing through them. This can alleviate where blood moves and help give the veins in the legs a rest from all the pressure. Furthermore, keeping an ideal body weight can prevent what causes spider veins from attacking your legs. Anytime excessive weight gain occurs, the veins are susceptible to succumb to some pressure and spider veins will thus result. Compression hoses are also an option for long plane and car rides to keep the blood in the body moving. This helps to prevent blood clots as well as spider veins. If you have questions about this option, see a vein specialist or vein treatment clinic in your area to see where you may obtain one; finding them online may be possible as well. It is always a good idea to ask plenty of questions about your particular case after a vein specialist is able to examine any spider veins that you may have. Sclerotherapy is one common treatment option which causes veins to seal after an injection which causes fibrosis. For each case, a vein treatment specialist may suggest a different solution. Find a vein doctor whom you feel comfortable with and discuss what causes spider veins with him or her to get a better idea of how to better handle your own health.
