What They Mean With Smoking Dangers Smoking can cause serious health problems like cancer, respiratory problems, and heart disease. Smokers are more prone to lung cancer than non-smokers. They are also prone to cancer of the bladder, stomach, esophagus, pancreas, oral cavity, pharynx and larynx. Smoking weakens the body's natural defense; therefore, it can't protect the body from harmful radicals that can result to cancer. Smoking is known to cause heart problems. It helps build fat substances that block coronary arteries. This causes irregular flow of blood in the arteries. This is usually the cause of heart attacks. Smoking is also the main suspect of pulmonary problems. It blocks the airways to the lungs and causes inflammation of the air passages. This leads to another health problem, bronchitis. For men, smoking can be a real problem. It can cause erectile dysfunction and even impotence. Studies show that smokers are more likely to experience impotence compared to non smokers. Cigarettes have chemicals that can cause sexual dysfunction for men. It can rob men of their ability to have an erection. Cigarette smoking is the primary culprit for Buerger's Disease, a health problem that is characterized by the inflammation and clotting of the arteries or blood vessels and veins of the hands and feet. Cigarette smoking can cause more health problems than you think. It can contribute to the development of other health problems like cataract, colds, and even Alzheimer's disease.
