Guidelines For Writing Effective Web Contents - Articles Surfing

Your content is what net surfers will see when they visit your website, and it goes a long way to determine the actions they will take: whether to quit or to read on and click on your offer.

The following information will assist you in writing your website content, so that it captures the attention of your visitors and lead them to your most wanted response: buying your product or services.

(1.) Your Content Should Provide Valuable Information: Do not use your content to make sales, even though that is what you want. Online, surfers are looking for information on various issues bordering them, and they don't usually know who and what sites will provide this information, so they use the search engines to look for relevant sites providing this information.

A good content to them is the one giving them the information they seek. Thus your content should answers all their "W" questions(who, what, where, when, and why).

(2.) Stick To What You Know: Don't just write on any or all issues, write on the area you are well familiar with. It could be your hobby, idea, passion or work experience, this will make your content real and more factual.

You need to also brainstorm profitable topics relating to your area of knowledge. These are keywords and key phrases which are often searched upon but are rarely targeted by websites.

This will make your contents be in hot demand and to attract tons of targeted traffic. And remember, more traffic means more sales.

(3.) Write To Presell: Don't write to sell, but to presell, this is the secret of a good web content. Don't fill your site with flashing banners, but develop trust and confidence by writing with their best interest in mind. Write to satisfy them.

Identify their problems and identify why your solution is the right solution. Give examples of how your service or product fulfills needs or satisfies desires. Use real life examples to powerfully communicate the benefits of using your products. They must see you as a solution provider, a trusted consultant.

You may need to take a free course in Netwriting or get the book "Make Your Content Presell" by Ken Envoy to sharpen your skills.

(4.) Make Your Words Count: Use active, not passive voice, this will bring your content to life. Use only enough words in your content, avoid unnecessary repetitions, unnecessary adjectives. Keep it concise, go to the point. Make your words count.

(5.) Convert Your Traffic Into Money: End your content well and strong by recommending your visitors to your income generating source after they have come to respect and like you by using any of the four monetization models below:

(i) Google Adsense: Visitors click on your Google Adsense Ads, generating a substantial monthly based income.
(ii) Affiliate Programs: Refer presold visitors to the affiliate programs of merchants who sell related goods/services to your theme.

(iii) Referrer/finder Arrangement: Visitors buy from special opportunities, especially local offline business(ex., a local lawyer who you recommend).

(iv) Other models that fit your long-term goals: You earn income through other monetization models(ex., e-goods, services, etc.)
